Firms have peer reviews because of the public interest in quality of accounting, audit and attestation services provided by public accounting firms. Also most state boards of accountancy require licensees to undergo a peer review, which they may also call a compliance review, in order to practice in the state.
Gene Garrelts, remarked “Our firm has a tradition of professionals serving on state and national accountancy boards. One of Jodi’s goals was to help our profession in a national leadership role. Now she has an expanded opportunity to give back to the public accounting profession.”
